Three guys showed up eager to remember 2019 and got better.
The Pax: Scout, Flying Tomato, and Aruba
Warmup: Arm circles, Windmills, Grass getters, Imperial walkers….several merkin penalties along the way
We remembered 2019 by doing workouts led by members throughout the year.
Bleacher derkins: I blamed Captain D for this one. Just seemed like a horrible workout that only he could conceive.
11’s: Chitwood is to blame – pole to pole, American Hammers on far end and windshield wipers on the near end. For sake of time, we stopped at 6/5
Duck Walk to Camelot: Froyo
Ladder: Flying T – sets of 20, 10, 5 (modified from his original 20, 15, 10, 5) pull-ups, curls, overhead press, skull crushers
Wheel of Merkins: Neo
Then a game of winter ball on the baseball field: Madbum – only had time for 100 LBCs with doing sets of 25, 25, and 50
We brought up Rafiki in prayer requests and Flying T mentioned Saturday’s workout by Bowtie. Scout led us out in prayer.
This has been a great year even with all the ups and downs. We can always want for more and wish for things to be better, but at the end of the day, we should all be happy with the gifts we are given. For instance, the strong bonds made this year have been tremendous. There’s always someone in our group that’s ready to step up to listen, to lend a helping hand, and to give that pop in the back of the head when necessary. Thank you men for a unforgettable 2019 and I’m looking forward to seeing what our group will achieve on 2020.
