Moleskin: Excellent PAX turnout this morning.  I am blessed to have so many brothers to share our exciting new baby news with.  This past weekend, YC had the opportunity to spend time with 300 middle and high schoolers while helping to lead a youth retreat.  It was a significant time.  I was reminded of the benefit of retreat – not fleeing the battle, but re-grouping and re-centering.  As people I think we inherently know we need regular renewal, which is why we can so easily take “mini-retreats” through many things.  We can find a lot of things to retreat into (make your own list in your head), and many of them are not bad (some certainly are).  So my reminder is this, whatever we retreat to, remember that nothing has the ability to renew and restore our soul like time spent in a position of worship.  It may be a few quite moments, or a moment getting outside of ourselves for the sake of another.  A daily or weekly mini-retreat into a sacred space in your home or at work, or an annual camping trip to clear the mind.  You know what is needed.  There’s a lot riding on it! “Whatever you are doing, work at it with enthusiasm, as to the Lord and not for people, because you know that you will receive your inheritance from the Lord as the reward. Serve the Lord Christ.”  (Colossians 3:23-24, link).  Word.
