Quiet Desperation…

Two pax answered the call this morning and got better because of it. 

The Pax: Mandela and Flying Tomato  (Q: Squirrel) 

TWIST

Trunk Twist – Swing your arms left-right as you twist your torso

MOBILITY ROUTINE

Cobra to active back bend hold –thumbs up, pinch shoulder blades & pause.  Two breaths here.  Repeato x5.

HAMSTRINGS

Hamstring Stretch – Right foot over left.  Bend at the hips to fold forward. Pro Tip – lengthen the front of your torso.  <Flapjack>

HIPS

4 minute Hip rotations – This is a Yin stretch.  On your butt, right knee forward @ 90, left knee back @ 90. Bend forward with a proud chest. Should feel in right hip.  5 breaths.  <Flapjack>

4 minute Pigeon.  Flapjack

QUADs

4 minute Hurdler stretch– This is a Yin stretch. 

STRENGTH / CORE – 7 minutes of abs

YHC read this post from F3’s Dark Helmet as I glanced at LinkedIn.  I couldn’t say it any better. 

 

It’s just one workout, what difference does it make?

Each time we choose easy and safe and comfortable, that “track” in our brains becomes smoother to travel later.

This will ultimately lead to a life of hanging on in quiet desperation…

#Resist.

 

I’ve got to admit, I’ve been a slacking a bit.  Yes…I’m coming back from an injury AND I could have chosen to modify as necessary and I have not.  Be better than I have been.  As DOAH (Darkest of All Helmets) says, “Resist”

Many of us have seen our elders who are hanging on in quiet desperation.  Don’t let yourself be “that guy”.  If you haven’t seen someone in the Gloom for a while call them.  Ask them if they need a ride…better yet tell them you’ll honk your horn outside their house at 0515 and give them a ride. 😉
