Beatdown

The 10 Plagues

In the spirit of the season, 11 pax showed up for the DRP in the gloom to experience E2 (Education & Exercise). In celebration and remembrance of God’s Passover in Egypt thousands of years ago, the pax toiled with the number of exercises to mark the chapter and verse from Exodus.

Moleskine: A post I made on another forum today:

While on active duty as an Army Officer, I watched the US Army change throughout my entire career. The Army expanded and contracted multiple times. It restructured, modernized, and reprioritized often. It changed equipment, doctrine, tactics, procedures, and systems. Visibly, we changed uniforms so many times that I wondered why it was necessary to purchase a new one since we would have another new uniform within 1-3 years. With all of the change, which I noted proved constant, I learned an important lesson very early in my career to focus on those areas that I could affect and to avoid focus on those topics, where I would have little control. This did not mean ignorance of the rest of the circumstances affecting me, but I rarely had control over a lot of it.

In business and politics, it seems that we often focus on those things, where we lack control vs those things that we can do to positively affect those around us, or family, organization, and community. Have you asked yourself what you and your team are focused on? Are those topics the right topics or those things, over which you will never control? Can you see the forest through the trees and stay oriented on the right objectives?
