YHC was yet again investing in some QT this week.  Another great sermon led me to evaluate my friends.  In a previous Moleskine I had said that, “This “tribe” of F3 Sandhills are people who are making similar life choices.  It helps me sustain my energy.  YOU helpME to go deeper and still ACCELERATE.”

Aruba said a similar thing, in typical Aruba-style, much quieter and to the point.  I wouldn’t be who I am today without so many friends who have encouraged me to become a better person, fought for our friendship, and pushed me towards Christ all along the way.

Each one of you (EACH ONE) aren’t just friends to me, you’re an influence.  If you don’t have a Godly friend in your life, find one…or twenty.  YHC has realized that when I surround myself with friends (not co-workers) the impact is not just temporary, but eternal.  You move me towards my Creator every day.  There are some beat downs that I believe some of you are moving me toward my Creator faster than others! 😉

What was the sermon I spoke of which nudged me to acknowledge my friends? Luke 5:17-25.  Four friends take a paralytic to Jesus.  They can’t get to Jesus so they drop him in through the roof. Jesus doesn’t say the paralytic’s faith is strong but it his FRIENDS faith which is strong and so Jesus heals the guy!

When we stay plugged in at F3, when we post routinely, when we find/create a Shield Lock….that is when we are surrounded by friends who encourage us, who build us up with words of affirmation and not tear down, who have faith in us even when we don’t, who tell us the hard things that we may not want to hear.  It is our friends that make us as strong as the strongest link in the chain (not the weakest).

I am thankful for each of you; my friends.  You help me take the next step in faith, no matter how small.
