MOLESKINE: ….Retentive, or is it OCD?
Every, and I mean EVERY faceplate on every light switch, network, phone and electrical outlet in my entire house has their screw heads pointing perfectly vertical. Every. Single. One.
YHC likes to ‘align’ screw heads when I’m doing wall faceplates. (meaning, all the grooves on the faceplates face the same direction). It’s an aesthetic consideration. When the screw grooves are randomly positioned, it makes the face plate looks worse/chaotic. So, I’ve been in the habit of aligning the screws vertically. But there are times I think maybe it’s better to have the grooves aligned horizontally.
Is there a “proper” alignment for screw head grooves? (maybe something electricians agree on? …for example, wall painters always paint parallel to the direction of the major light source so the paint job looks best)
What do you guys think, should the grooves be horizontal or vertical or diagonal?
A peek inside the mind of a Squirrel. What’s your OCD behavior? Shoes lined up by color? Shirts all pointed the same direction & lined up in a rotation? Money in the wallet all facing the same way…sorted by denomination?
p.s. After reviewing my question of what your retentive behavior may be I realized….I do all those too. 😉
