Fourteen Pax, took the Daily Red Pill (DRP) this morning and got better because for it. That’s a number I haven’t seen in quite some time in the gloom!
The Pax: Squirrel, Roadhouse, Scout, CPT D, MadBum, Josey, Neo, Poacher, Beano, FroYo, Flying Tomato, Chitwood, Aruba and Jeb
The Scene: Juicy. Just a bit more humider than something really humid.
Warm Up: Had to do it OYO before the beatdown
The Thang: Week 1 workout is 4 Rounds for time:
Every Minute On the Minute (EMOM) called by our very own Aruba – 3 burpees. I couldn’t quite tell due to the darkness of the gloom, but there seemed to be a smile that ran across his face as he paced around the ring of men saying, “three burpees.”
3 Burpees (Begins Rd & EMOM timer)
50 Hand Release Release Merkins
100 Leg Raises
150 Jungle Boi Squats “2Spoonz Style”
200 Big Boy Sit-ups
250 Stationary Lunge Steps (count ea leg as 1 rep)
Scoring: Total elapsed time beginning with the 1st Burpee and ending with three burpees after the 250th lunge step.
Once again, all the Pax should be very proud this morning for the outstanding effort put forth in the Iron Pax Challenge. It’s great to see the camaraderie out there as those that had finished went back out to support the others.
Chit-chat kinda words are characterless and die upon leaving the lips. Evil words rankle for a while and then die. But the hopeful, kind, cheering word sinks into a man’s heart and goes on bearing fruit forever. Like when FroYo says, “just three burpee’s”.
There’s power in our words men. Power beyond what we think. We can speak evil into others or hopeful, encouraging words. Look into your own history and think of the encouraging words you had spoken to you in youth and in the days of struggle. There are men today who are living out amazing things in the world. Men who have kept to their purpose, even when in poor conditions. How do they keep to this purpose? Sometimes it just takes an encouraging word from another man. Speak words of encouragement, of power every chance you get. Always send your friends from you bearing a word that they will take into the years and fulfill for you.
