Give Me a Leg Up

Thirteen Pax took the DRP this morning and got better.

Stronghold Pax: Beano, Josey, Vault, Rafiki, Napalm, and Roadhouse (Q).

Gumby Pax: Aruba, Mandela, Meat Sweats, Flying Tomato, Scout, Wrangler, and Captain D.

The Scene: Hot and sticky with an occasional warm breeze.

Warm-Up

Mosey around the block

Arm circles & reverse arm circles

Good jobs (a Chitwood favorite)

Michael Phelps (alternating freestyle swimmer stroke)

The Thang:

Move to the playground and perform the following OYO:

L Hang or Hanging Knee Hold – Accumulate 3 minutes

Each time you break, run up the hill to May St. and back

Note: Neither the Pax nor their L Hangs looked this good.

The group then moved to the street for some curb crawls.  Start with your feet on one curb, perform one derkin, bear crawl across the street, perform two derkins and so on up to the count of 10.  We did not go back down the ladder and me and several of the pax were glad of it.  Apparently, so were the residents of Ashe Street.  Scout mentioned there was some yelling after we left, guess our cadence may have been a little too loud…Oops.

We then moseyed around the block to the wall for some leg work which included 25 step ups each leg, 20 Bulgarian split squats each leg, and my new favorite, the Bolt 45.

Moving back to the court, someone mentioned motivation and that seemed like a great time from some motivators.  After a few minutes of discussion on how to perform the motivator, Josey led us down from a count of 10.  The Q then called upon Beano to finish the morning with some of his patented ab work.
