7Pax (including two 2.0’s) braved the early morning heat/humidity on the 170 day of the year. In honor of the 170th day of the year, each set of exercises reached a total count of 170 reps.
The Pax: Aruba, Ostertag, Bourne, Colt, Rip, Broc, Scrappy
Warm Up: Jog Lap, Side Straddle Hops (34) + Moroccan Night Club (34) + Imperial Walkers (34) + Moroccan Night Club (34) + Side Straddle Hops (34) = 170
The Thang: Today is also World Sauntering Day, so we sauntered down the hill to the half-wall and pavilion for some 170 Day sets:
Incline Mountain Climbers (17) + Little Baby Dips (17) + Step Ups (17) + Lunges (17 each leg) + Burpees (17) + Lunges (17 each leg) + Step Ups (17) + Little Baby Dips (17) + Incline Mountain Climbers (17) = 170
Partner Sets: We then partnered up for come combination partner sets.
Merkin / Planks – One PAX does 17 Merkins while his partner holds a plank position. Then they switch until they total 170 Merkins.
LBC / 6 Inch Leg Raise – One PAX does 17 LBCs while his partner holds his legs straight with feet 6 inches off the ground.
Saunter: We then sauntered back to the Park, circle up, and Colt led us out in prayer.
Today is the 170 day of the year, which reminded me of Psalm 90:12, “So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” Each day is a gift and should be lived the fullest. Time is the one resource we can’t renew. It reinforces what James says in James 4:13-17, “Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.”
Number yours days, for you do not know what tomorrow will bring.
