A Lack of Creativity…..

As the pax gathered in the gloom the QIC wanted to remind us how far most of you have come in just a few decades.  It was 1973 and Martin Cooper made the first handheld cellular phone call in public walking down the streets of New York. It’s not the first cellular call as car phones were around before then. The phone is also known as the “Brick” cell phone.  Squirrel just turned his flip phone (follow-on to the brick phone) off for the last time this past month – a moment of silence please.

QIC: Squirrel

The Pax: Rip, Hammerhead, Vault, Mad Bum, Huckleberry, Colt, McFly and Klinger

Warm Up:
Arm Circles          Windmill               Cotton pickers

The Thang:

For those in the challenge(s) we completed; 300 2-count American Hammers, 250 LBC’s and 392 Merkin’s.

50, 4-count American Hammers                        50, LBC’s

Tyson squats – Start with 10 cards in front of you, lined up & space between each card.  Squat down and place card 1 on card 2.  Move to 2nd card-two squats then put cards on the 3rd card.  Each card you up the squats by 1.  Get to 10 and then back down.

Merkins – 10 cards, flip the first card and do however many push-ups the card says. Ace = 11, Face cards = 10, Number = number on card.   Average Merkin count per pax was 80.

Mozey to the brick pile.  Each pax picks up two bricks

20x Front shoulder raises, 20x Side shoulder raises, 20x Rear shoulder raises.

At this point it was highlighted that the QIC had a lack of creativity as “we did these last time Squirrel had the Q.”

Frankenstein walk to the ‘tree line’ toward the Fire station with bricks held straight out in front of you.

Back to the bricks; 20x Front, side and rear shoulder raises.

20x IC Brick Goofballs

Second Frankenstein walk back toward the Fire station and back….lot of fast walkers this time 😉

20, 4-count Merkins

50, 4 count American Hammers

25, 4-count LBC’s

20, Rosalita’s

25, IC Long slow flutter

Mozey to put the small lady’s back.

20, 4-count Merkins

50, 4-count American Hammers

25, 4-count LBC’s

20…er, 18, 4-count Merkins

It was YHC goal to get to muscle failure for our shoulders today. Why?  chances are, you spend most of your waking moments tethered to your smartphone.  Hoping this helps you put them down today.

Oh, my God, my shoulders are killing me!!!

  1. We lifted up four of our warriors (the three present – Vault, Colt and McFly and in absentia – Sprocket) who will be headed to the Spartan race this Saturday.
  2. Spread the word about the 100 Moore Men effort that CPT has put on his heart.

With heavy arms, or weak shoulders we huddled around the COT and MadBum prayed us out.
